{"id":1751,"date":"2026-05-16T20:47:50","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T19:47:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecouragetimes.com\/inqxs\/?p=1751"},"modified":"2026-05-16T21:22:37","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T20:22:37","slug":"ifad-trains-beneficiaries-on-marketing-strategy-stakeholders-pressure-govt-on-all-lgas-inclusion-in-life-nd-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecouragetimes.com\/inqxs\/2026\/05\/16\/ifad-trains-beneficiaries-on-marketing-strategy-stakeholders-pressure-govt-on-all-lgas-inclusion-in-life-nd-project\/","title":{"rendered":"IFAD Trains Beneficiaries on Marketing Strategy, Stakeholders Pressure Govt on all LGAs&#8217; Inclusion in LIFE-ND Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<body>\n<p>In an effort to make its beneficiaries gain sustainable advantage over international competitors, Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises, Niger Delta, LIFE-ND, an International Fund for Agricultural Development-sponsored Project,\u00a0\u00a0 on May 4, 2026, in Umuahia, organized training on Marketing strategy to gain competitive advantage over rivals for sustainable profit margin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"322\" height=\"370\" src=\"https:\/\/thecouragetimes.com\/inqxs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/IMG-20260516-WA0048.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1753\" style=\"width:641px;height:auto\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:10px\">Uchenna Rowland Onyeizu, Ph.D, CEnv<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:10px\">State Project Coordinator<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing journalists on the gains of the training, the State Project Coordinator Uchenna Rowland Onyeizu, Ph.D, CEnv, said the exercise is directed at making the beneficiaries have the knowledge of measuring, branding, packaging, pricing for profit, including meeting international standards of acceptability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe sustainability of every agribusiness is dependent on the profit that they make. That\u2019s why we\u2019ve decided to organize this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBasically, this is to teach and build their capacity on measuring, packaging, branding their products, so as to add more market value at the end of day\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that the training is equally aimed at discouraging farmers from selling at \u201cfarmgate\u201d where offtakers buy directly from the farm, cutting off middlemen, leading to little or no profit in the tasking activities of farming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:10px\">                                                              <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:10px\">                                                                            <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on the inclusion of all the 17 Local Government Areas in the project, Onyeizu revealed that the clamour for inclusion by other Local Government Areas, has gained attention of State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, through the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Cliff Agbaeze, tagging the proposed inclusion as \u201cLIFE-ND plus\u201d, (LIFE-ND+).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He explained that the Project was limited to 10 selected LGAs of the state due to limited funding of the financiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPressure of expansion has always been there when we go to communities. Communities not selected, question why they were removed from the selection process. However, we\u2019ve proposed to the state government for what we call, LIFE-ND+\u201d,\u00a0 he revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" said the exercise would restore investors\u2019 and Offtakers\u2019 confidence on standards: weight, measurements, packaging, branding and pricing, giving positive identity to the farmer and production process, including enhancing credibility both online and other alternative marketplaces.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" Specialist, Ms Nkechi Kalu Chukwu, observed the ignorance of farmers in the process of marketing strategy, advising the participants to have adequate knowledge of all the identified elements if they Agriculture<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A resource person Mr John Gabriel, an Agric Economist from Ministry of Agriculture, advised the government to set up task force that would enforce standards that will match Odoemelam Kingsley Ifeanyi, an agribusiness entrepreneur of rice production, processing, seed multiplication, and marketing, Uzuakoli, Bende LGA, thanked the Project for building his knowledge in
