The commissioner representing Abia State on the federal board of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chief, Honourable Eruba Dimgba, on Sunday, November 3, 2024, set up a humanitarian Foundation for the less privileged in the society.
The "Eruba Dimgba Foundation" EDF, is an initiative to compliment President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda of social inclusion and economic growth of assisting, offering solutions and humanitarian services to the indigent and lowly placed persons in the society.
Chief Dimgba who was recently honoured with Diplomatic Ambassador by United Nations Chapter of International Parliament for Safety, Peace and Justice, IPSPJ, said that the Foundation has been his childhood dream of providing help to the poor.
" The vision, long nurtured in my heart, has finally become a reality, dedicated to providing vital support and succour to the underprivileged in our society," Dimgba said.

The proprietor of Chyvik Model Secondary School, Obehie, Ukwa West, Ike Kanu, Ph.D, who was the chairman of the occasion, lauded Chief Dimgba's exceptional commitment to putting smiles on the faces of those whose lives are beginning to have less value due to poverty.
Chief Kanu equally advised other well-meaning individuals, not only to support the Foundation, but to also emulate the vision of Chief Dimgba.
The former Abia State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Sir Don Ubani, commended Chief Dimgba for his charitable purpose of giving back to the poor, describing him "as taciturn, but full of ideas", especially in the quality of persons selected to coordinate the management of the Foundation.
"I'm impressed with what he has done. It shows altruism, commitment to giving back to the society what one has gotten.
"I know him. He's a man that doesn't talk much, taciturn, but full of ideas and actions. I advise the would-be beneficiaries to attach service and attention, despite how little," Sir Ubani said.
Chief, Honourable, Paul Taribo, Former Deputy Leader, representing Ukwa East, Abia State House of Assembly, complimented the Foundation as "well thought-out", in the "mission and vision that is consonance with providing assistance to less privileged, the poor and needy.
Chief Taribo promised to assist in elevating the Foundation to the regional level where more beneficiaries would be accommodated.
Donations were made in support of the Foundation.
The launch was held at Lenzor Hotel, Ezendioma, Ukwa West Local Government Area, Abia State had many dignitaries in attendance.
Among them were, Eze Tunde Ehiemere of Ezendioma Autonomous Community, Former Chief Whip, Abia State House of Assembly, Honourable Tony Mezie Nwubani; Former Executive Chairman, Ukwa West, Chief Uzoma Nwaji; former Transition Chairman of Ukwa-West Local Government Council, Chief John Ajuzieogu; former Commissioner, Abia State Local Government Service Commission, Sir Eugene Ijeoma Dike;
Others include, former Head of Service in Abia State Unified Local Government Service, Barr Sam Ogbonna; President-General of Asa Development Union, Elder Goodluck Nwuju; Abia State Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, Mr Azubuike Nwaubani, and Ukwa Grassroots Ambassadors, amongst others.
There were cultural performances by various cultural groups to grace the inauguration of the launch.
